Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
The short version
- Your business data never comes to us. Sales, stock, purchases, card shows and everything else you enter is stored only on your own computer.
- Your account is just your email address. We use it to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account.
- Accounts are stored in Sydney, Australia. We don’t sell your information, show you ads, or track how you use the app.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app (Account → Delete account) or by emailing us.
1. Who we are
Side Inventory Manager is made by Side Cards, based in New South Wales, Australia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how we handle personal information for the Side Inventory Manager app, its accounts, and its pages on sidecards.co.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. What we collect
| Information | When and why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | When you create an account. It identifies your account, and it’s where we send your sign-in codes and important notices about your account or the app. |
| Account ID and dates | Created automatically: a random account number, when you signed up and when you last signed in. Needed to run your account. |
| Sign-in records | When you sign in, our account provider records technical details such as your IP address, browser or app version, and the time. These keep accounts secure (for example, spotting misuse) and are kept for a limited time. |
| What you tell us | If you apply for the beta, email us or give feedback: your name, email address and whatever you choose to include (for example, where you sell and what you use now). We use it to reply and to improve the app. |
What we don’t collect
The app stores everything you enter — sales, stock, purchases, expenses, postage, card shows, reports, settings and backups — only on your computer. None of it is sent to us and we can’t see it. When the app goes online it only signs you in and checks your account is still active; that check carries your sign-in token, not your data.
The app has no advertising, analytics or usage tracking.
If you turn on the app’s optional cloud sync, your data is copied between your own computers through your own iCloud Drive or OneDrive account. That’s between you and Apple or Microsoft under their privacy terms — it never passes through us.
3. How we use it
- To create your account, sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To contact you about your account, the beta, or important changes to the app or these policies.
- To reply to your messages and use your feedback to improve the app.
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising. We’ll only send you marketing emails if you’ve asked for them, and every one will have an unsubscribe link (as the Spam Act 2003 requires). Sign-in codes and account notices aren’t marketing.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run accounts, who handle it on our behalf:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase, Inc. | Stores accounts (email address, account ID, dates, sign-in records) and runs sign-in. | Stored in Sydney, Australia. Supabase is a US company. |
| Google LLC (Gmail) | Delivers sign-in code emails, and receives any email you send us. | Australia and other countries, including the United States. |
| Our website host and content-delivery networks | Serve sidecards.co. Like any website, they see your IP address and browser details when you visit. | Australia and other countries. |
Because these providers operate internationally, your information may be accessed from outside Australia, including from the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
We’ll also disclose information if the law requires it.
Payments aren’t part of the app today. If we introduce paid plans, payments will be handled by a payment provider and we’ll update this policy before then.
5. How long we keep it, and security
We keep your account until you delete it, or until we close accounts at the end of the service (we’ll tell you first). When you delete your account it’s removed from our account system straight away; sign-in records are deleted on our provider’s normal schedule. Beta applications and emails are kept only as long as we need them.
Accounts are protected with access rules that stop anyone reading account data without signing in, and all connections are encrypted. You sign in with one-time codes, so there are no passwords to steal. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Data on your computer is protected by your computer’s own security — keep it updated and password-protected.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access or correct: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it.
- Delete: in the app, Account → Delete account, or email us. Deleting your account doesn’t touch the data on your computer — that stays yours, in its folder.
- Stay anonymous? An account needs a working email address, but it doesn’t have to include your name.
We’ll respond within 30 days.
7. Age
The app is for people aged 18 or over, or younger people using it with a parent or guardian’s permission.
8. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email us first and we’ll try to fix it within 30 days. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information in a way that matters — for example, adding payments or a new provider — we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and email account holders about significant changes before they apply.
