Side Inventory Manager

Terms of Service

Last updated 13 October 2026

The short version

  • Side Inventory Manager is free during the beta. If we ever introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you well in advance and you’ll never be charged unless you choose to subscribe.
  • Your data is yours and stays on your computer. Keep your own backups — we never have a copy, so we can’t restore it.
  • It’s a beta: expect rough edges, and tell us what’s wrong.
  • The numbers it shows are a tool, not financial or tax advice.
  • Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Side Cards, based in New South Wales, Australia (“we”, “us”), for the Side Inventory Manager desktop app, its accounts, and related pages on sidecards.co (together, “the app”).

You agree to them when you create an account or use the app. If you use the app for a business, you’re agreeing on behalf of that business. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. The beta

The app is in beta. That means features may change, be added or be removed, and things may not always work as expected. We’d love your feedback — if you send us ideas or bug reports, we can use them to improve the app without owing you anything for them.

3. Price

The app and accounts are free during the beta. There’s no card on file and nothing to cancel.

If we introduce paid plans, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email, show the full price (including GST) and how billing and cancelling work before you pay, and publish updated terms. Nothing will be charged unless you actively choose to subscribe. If you don’t want to, you can keep the data on your computer — it’s never deleted or locked away by us.

4. Your account

5. Your data

Everything you enter in the app is stored on your own computer, and it belongs to you. We don’t receive it, can’t see it, and can’t recover it. You’re responsible for it, including keeping backups. The app makes a local backup each time it opens, but that’s on the same computer — keep your own copy somewhere else too (the app can export to CSV).

If you use the app’s optional cloud sync, your data moves through your own iCloud Drive or OneDrive account, under Apple’s or Microsoft’s terms.

If your access to the app ever ends, the data on your computer stays yours.

6. Using the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on your own computers for your own personal or business record-keeping. The app and its design, code and branding belong to us.

Please don’t:

7. Not financial or tax advice

The app helps you record and add up your own figures — sales, fees, postage, purchases and profit. Its results are only as accurate as what you put in, and they aren’t financial, accounting or tax advice. For tax returns, GST or business decisions, check with a qualified accountant.

8. Other companies

The app can read files exported from other services (such as eBay and Collectr) and refers to card names and sets. We’re not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by eBay, Collectr, TCGplayer, Nintendo, The Pokémon Company or any other company mentioned; their names and trademarks belong to them.

9. Your rights under Australian law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can’t be excluded.

Subject to that: the app is provided free during the beta, and to the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data stored on your computer. Where the law lets us limit our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close an account that’s being misused or used in breach of these terms. We may also end the beta or the app; if we do, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email where we reasonably can. Either way, the data on your computer stays yours.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. For significant changes we’ll email account holders at least 14 days before they apply (30 days for anything about price). If you don’t agree with a change, you can stop using the app and delete your account before it applies.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If there’s a problem, please contact us first — most things can be sorted out quickly.
